About Amanda
Hi there! My name is Amanda and this is my blog.
Who am I?
Whew, that’s a tough question to answer, but for your sake I will attempt a response. I’m a simple, small-town girl from the Ozarks with a strong case of wanderlust. I’m an intern architect by day, and a blog lover by night. That’s the short answer, but if you’d like a longer one I suggest sticking around, reading more of my posts, and you can always email me with questions!
What are my interests?
Let’s see what we have in common…
I enjoy vegan cooking, architecture, Craigslist, organic produce, JCrew, photography, crafting, juicing, bike commutes, blogs (reading and writing), personal style, Paris (the one in France), natural products, raw food, thrifting, camping, yoga, coffee, sketchbooks, movies, travel, DIY, and more!
My goals
- I am constantly striving to be a better “me” by reading, eating right, keeping organized, writing, and learning.
- I would love to be car-free, but for now I’m working on reducing our car use. Soon, I hope to be more of a pro at commuting via bike so I can share my tips with you!
- Minimize the amount of “stuff” I have by 25%.
- Fix up the house that AJ and I own. This is a big one, and you can read much more about it under House Plans.
- Someday I would love to own a personal design practice specializing in natural building. This is more of a long term goal, but I love putting my order in to the universe!
The Loves
Let me introduce you to the two most important mammals in my life.
AJ is my love, my husband, my life partner, best friend, and Designing 4 Life proofreader. He just finished up his Masters of Philosophy from the University of British Columbia and currently teaches at local universities. Eventually he will be going back to school for a PhD in Philosophy. Without him, Designing 4 Life would lack a certain level of quality that can only come with consultations from a philosopher. Lucky us!
Buster is the cutest little yorkie ever. Everyone he meets falls in love with that little ball of cuteness to the right. He is the resident security guard for Designing 4 Life. He makes sure no mail carriers, squirrels, birds, snakes, possums and skunks get in the way of my work. Such a hard worker!
What Else Would You Like to Know?
I guess that sums it up for me and my life happenings for now. Is there anything else you would like to know? Contact me and I will answer your burning questions!
With Smiles & Wishes,
